To all past and present LPVBers:
The Picnic is now gone, but not forgotten. It was a great turn-out for the last days and will not soon be forgotten. Lincoln Park Volleyball remains alive and kicking at our ancestral location on the South Field of Lincoln Park, Tuesday and Thursday April through September. New rule: if the temperature is below 50, we will not be there. (Note: sometimes that includes wind chill, so check on your weather app for the lakefront around 4:00 PM on Tuesday or Thursday.) Opening day will be April 2 – free cold adult beverage to all attendees. There will still be a season ending barbeque on October 1 with lots of food and drink.

Lincoln Park Volleyball - An Introduction
While there is some controversy as to the exact year of our birth as an organization,
there can be no doubt
that people have been gathering outdoors in Lincoln Park to play pick-up volleyball
games for over 35 years.
Our season begins the first Tuesday in April and continues through September, every
Tuesday and Thursday from
5:30 until it gets dark. We have permanent courts located just south of the lagoon,
west of Cannon Drive
and north of the bridge that crosses over to North Avenue Beach. Click
here for a map. free and open to all. So even
if you play on the beach, you can begin your warm-ups with us and continue to play long after your season is over.
Look for us by the blue and
yellow sign.
Any questions feel free to contact a committee member.
Parking
Meter and free parking is located west of the park on Clark Street and Stockton
Drive. There is hourly parking
available along Cannon Drive which puts you right next to the courts but this can
be pricey. However, if you're
going to be with us all season, you can sign up for a Lincoln Park Zoo membership
at the Zoologist level which
guarantees you unlimited free parking. Call the Zoo at (312) 742-2080 or click on
the link below.
Annual Volleyball Picnic
The other highlight of our season is our annual picnic that always happens the Saturday
following Labor Day.
The exact location may vary from year to year. This year we're at Bunker Hill Forest Preserve, Grove # 1.
Click here for a map. The picnic starts at 11:00AM
and ends at dusk. A fee of $20 for adults and less for kids
includes all you can eat and drink and all the volleyball you may want to play.
